Compare the Hero of the Federation and Murray Youtooz figures by size, price, and display style to decide which PlayStation collectible fits your shelf and budget.
Quick answer
Choose the Hero of the Federation figure if you want a dynamic, action-packed piece at a lower price; pick Murray if you prefer a character-driven pose with a larger, more imposing presence. Both are 4-inch-scale Youtooz collectibles, so your decision comes down to which style fits your shelf and budget.
Size and presence: what the numbers mean for your shelf
The Hero of the Federation stands 4.1 inches tall, while Murray is 4.2 inches—a difference of just 0.1 inch. In practice, both fit comfortably on a standard bookshelf or desk without dominating the space. However, Murray’s slightly wider stance and raised fist may require a bit more horizontal clearance, so measure your display area if you’re tight on space.
Price vs. detail: where your money goes
At $18.89 (compared to a $29.99 list price), the Hero of the Federation is the more budget-friendly option. Murray is priced at $21.89 (also compared to $29.99), about $3 more. The price difference is small, but it might matter if you’re buying multiple figures or sticking to a strict budget. Neither figure sacrifices detail for price—both feature the intricate sculpting and paintwork Youtooz is known for.
Display style: action vs. attitude
The Hero of the Federation captures a mid-leap moment with a machine gun and explosion backdrop, making it a high-energy focal point. Murray, with his confident smile and raised fist, brings a more relaxed, character-focused vibe. Consider the overall tone of your collection: if you already have several dynamic poses, Murray adds variety; if your shelf is mostly static, the Hero injects motion.
Decision rules: which figure should you buy?
- Budget-first collector: If you want to spend under $20, choose the Hero of the Federation. It delivers the same Youtooz quality at a lower price.
- Character loyalty: If you’re a fan of Murray or the Sly Cooper series, pick Murray—the figure captures his personality with a confident pose and signature accessories.
- Display space: If your shelf is shallow (less than 5 inches deep), both fit, but Murray’s wider stance may need extra room. Measure before you commit.
- Collection cohesion: If your existing figures are mostly static, the Hero of the Federation adds dynamic energy. If you already have many action poses, Murray offers a calmer counterpoint.
